IBPS-The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, which is autonomous, conducts IBPS Exam and research-based institute offering human resource recruitment opportunity to the banking sector of India. The guiding and governing body for IBPS is the RBI, Finance Ministry of India and NIBM. What are the exams falling under IBPS?

1. IBPS SO: This examination is for Specialist Officer. Scale 1 SO provides grade management service at the junior level in areas like HR, IT, Marketing, Law etc. Scale 2 SO needs specialization like an MBA, PG, PGDBM, CFA etc. Further, work experience is needed too.

2. IBPS Clerk: there are two exams in this, preliminary and mains and is conducted for the clerical posts.

3. IBPS PO: there are two exams in this, preliminary and mains after which there is an interview process. Graduates are free to apply to this post and those who qualify in the same are inducted as AM on a probationary basis.

4. IBPS RRB: Group A personnel of the scale 1, 2 and 3 and group B personnel are recruited through this exam. Necessary degrees and work experience are required for this exam.

It is to be noted that the final merit list is based on the exam result, interview, bank’s requirements as well as the experience and aptitude.

RRB- The railway is one of those institutions that people wish to work with. Every year Railway Recruitment Board conducts exams for the recruitment of candidates at various posts under the non-technical and technical categories.

PSC- Public Service Commission (PSC) is through what the governmental body recruits people through a series of examinations. They are known as PSC exams. The exams are conducted differently and separately for various government job posts. From the lower level of posts to high-level posts, the examinations are conducted.

UPSC- The Union Public Service Commission commonly abbreviated as UPSC, is India’s premier central recruiting agency. It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for All India services and group A & group B of Central services. While the Department of Personnel and Training is the central personnel agency in India.

GATE–The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.

The purpose of the GATE exam is to test student’s knowledge and understanding of their under Graduate level subjects in Engineering and Science. Every year lakhs of engineering graduates pass out from universities and engineering colleges

CAT– The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based test for admission in a graduate management program. The test scores a candidate on the bases of Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for their business administration programs. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on a policy of rotation.

XAT– Xavier Aptitude Test or popularly known as XAT is a national-level management entrance test conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, for admission to management programs at XLRI and other XAT participating institutes across the country. XAT is a computer-based test in online mode.

MAT– Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standard aptitude test conducted in India since 1998 by the All India Management Association. MAT is used for admission to Master of Business Administration and allied programs by over 600 business schools across India.

GMAT– The Graduate Management Admission Test is a computer adaptive test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA program.

CTET– Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) twice a year to shortlist candidates for appointment as teachers in classes I to VIII. There are two CTET test papers in the exam, that is, Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates who plan to teach classes I-V need to give Paper-I and candidates who plan to teach classes VI-VIII need to take Paper-II. Candidates who plan to teach classes I-VIII need to take both the papers.

NET– The National Eligibility Test, also known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is the test for determining the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship or both in Indian universities and government colleges.

UGC NET is a national level exam conducted by NTA on behalf of the University Grants Commission to certify the eligibility of candidates for the post of ‘Assistant Professor’ or ‘Junior Research Fellowship’. … UGC NET comprises two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 which will be held consecutively without any break.

SET– SET EXAM is a gateway for admissions to undergraduate courses like management, Low, Engineering, Computer Studies, Economics, Design, Mass Communication, Liberal Arts and Culinary Arts. The exam is conducted in about 80cities across the country in online mode or computer-based test mode.
